How to Care for Hands

Writer: david luceydavid lucey

Hands are the first thing to reveal signs of ageing and the first thing to suffer from sun, water and cold weather😐

In autumn and winter I always get a lot of enquiries from patients who are concerned about pigmentation, wrinkles and dryness of their hand skin. So in today’s post I’ll share some thoughts on hand care👨‍⚕️

From what I notice as a professional, many people religiously use skincare products on their face daily while absolutely ignoring their hand area. Please keep in mind that your hands —  like your face — need to be hydrated, nourished and exfoliated on a regular basis.

👋 There are lots of highly effective beauty treatments to restore and protect beauty and youth of your hands. From what I personally love: injectable hydroboosters and especially Profhilo❤️ It gives your hands prolonged hydration, thickens the skin and makes capillaries less visible. I’ve seen its effects many times in patients and it’s striking — not only because hands look better after the procedure, but also because they don’t feel dry anymore. Highly recommend👍🏻

A very boring point, still true though: lifestyle matters👨‍⚕️ Drink water, eat healthy, avoid stress and wear gloves when it’s cold. I guarantee, your skin will pay you back!

In the end, I’ll show you a little trick to check your hand skin condition. Pinch a little bit of skin from your hand, pull it and hold for a few seconds. Then let it go and observe how fast it smooths back. Of course, it’s not a wholesome check up, however it could give some idea on how hydrated your hands are😉
